Your Questions, Answered

It's crucial to invest time in researching providers who align with your specific needs and hold an approach that ensures your comfort and ability to achieve your goals for treatment. At Your Bright Side, we offer a diverse team of clinicians specializing in various areas and working with different age groups. Building rapport from the outset is key; it's essential to openly communicate with your therapist to determine if the relationship is beneficial for both parties. We take pride in matching each client, whether individual or family, with the most suitable provider and are committed to referring clients to the right person if needed.

We do not directly bill insurance companies for mental health services, however your insurance may reimburse you for out-of-network services that we provide. Mentaya is a third-party service that helps our clients seek reimbursements from their insurance companies. You can use Mentaya’s benefits calculator to determine whether you may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursements for mental health services. You can contact your individual provider at the practice for a superbill which you will use to file for out of network reimbursement.

Many insurance companies require a deductible to be met before they start paying for mental health coverage, so you may be paying out of pocket until a deductible is met. Your Bright Side Counseling Practice is considered an out of network provider, which means that we do not bill insurance companies directly. Your services may be eligible for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, medical spending, or health care savings accounts. Health insurance plans and benefits vary. If you are interested in using your health insurance to see one of our providers, please call your insurance provider to inquire about reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services (see below for questions to ask your insurance company).
Do I have mental health benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many mental health sessions per calendar year does my insurance plan cover?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network mental health provider?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

In order to have therapy services covered under insurance, a mental health diagnosis must be made. This information then becomes a part of your permanent health care record. This may lead to limitations such as denial for quality life insurance, specific occupations, or health insurance later on. When using insurance: – Insurance will have access to your records, diagnosis, treatment plan, even including your records and therapy notes – Insurance can limit by the diagnosis; limiting your length of therapy and dictating your therapy – Many insurance companies do not cover couples/relational or family therapy.

We reserve your appointment time just for you. If you do not attend your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. This also applies to sessions canceled or rescheduled without 24 hours notice.

Most counseling sessions last for 45-50 minutes. This is the same whether you are doing in-person sessions, virtual sessions, or walk-and-talk sessions. This also is the same for kids who come to us for child therapy. A couples/marriage session is typically 75 minutes.

The best way to connect with your provider is to visit the Collective page and select their individual provider profile. From there, you will be directed to their private page or website, where you can find their direct contact information.
This approach ensures that your care is personal, direct, and connected from the very beginning—allowing you to communicate and build a relationship with your provider from your first interaction.
